While the snow has been averse to participating in winter here so far in 2012 in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, that won’t stop us from trying to create memories and supply adventures! We have decided to continue to offer Segway tours, ATV tours and Horseback rides, weather permitting until the snow really starts to fly. If you find your self in Glenwood Springs and the snow conditions aren’t up to your expectations this winter, give us a call and schedule a fun little tour and take in some of the great scenery that Glenwood Springs provides.
Yes, you read right. The world of professional sports and whitewater rafting have crossed. A few weeks back, Indianapolis Colt’s offensive lineman, Mike Tepper, came to visit a friend at the Glenwood Adventure Company. Then, he never left. He’s a pretty fun guy to be around and he can just about lift anything we ask him, so we decided to keep him around 🙂 Mike is now a certified raft guide and finds being on the river in Glenwood Springs a great way to pass time during the NFL lockout.
Glenwood Adventure Company partners up with NOLS to raft down the Green River in Utah! A little bit off the beaten path of our normal routine in Glenwood Springs – but it’s good to try some whitewater rafting on different rivers!
Our own ‘Queen of the Boathouse’, Katy Evans, reported that the bald eagles that have been living in the Roaring Fork Valley were out and about today. They have a large nest along the Roaring Fork River in the Aspen Glen community. Most of the guests on our whitewater rafting trips out of Glenwood Springs have been able to see them! She also learned from a guest that the largest bald eagle nest is 9 feet in diameter and weighs two tons! Better get on the river quick if you want to see these majestic birds.
Anyone who is in Glenwood Springs on June 21 should come out for the debut of Glenwood Adventure Company’s Open Air Cinema. In honor of it’s 25th anniversary, we’ll be showing Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. It’s FREE of charge – just bring your own blanket or chair! We’ll start the flick at dusk – and gates open at 8:30 p.m. We’re hoping to do this every Tuesday throughout the summer if we get enough support – so head out for the show!
A lot of people that visit Glenwood Springs raft on the Colorado. Not many visitors know we are lucky to have another gorgeous river to go on for whitewater rafting. The Roaring Fork River flows past Aspen, Snowmass, Carbondale – and eventually meets at a confluence with the Colorado River in Glenwood Springs. Glenwood Adventure Company provides one of the largest selection of river trips for all abilities and ages. From Glenwood Springs you have access to five great whitewater rafting areas, Glenwood Canyon, The Roaring Fork River, The Upper Colorado, the Eagle River, and The Arkansas River. Each section … continued
Well the season is fully geared up now – and boy are we excited! The best part of summer is just around the corner – Stawberry Days. It’s always on Father’s Day weekend, so it’s like a double whammy of fun. GAC is prepping for our spectacular float which is going to included a display of rafts, segways, bikes, ATVs — and maybe some water guns. We are rarely excited in the early morning (unless it’s for rafting!) – so this is truly a once-a-year occasion for us. We’re trying to come up with a super special for dads this … continued
