Glenwood Adventure Company Honored with 2013 Bosco Tourism Award

GLENWOOD SPRINGS, Colo. –  Western Colorado outdoor adventure outfitter Glenwood Adventure Company has been awarded the 2013 Bosco Tourism Award by the Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association. The award honors the business that has most significantly contributed to Glenwood Springs’ ever-growing tourism industry in the past year.

Glenwood Adventure Company was awarded for their efforts in growing local employment opportunities, networking to bring more group travel to the area and upholding a high level of corporate citizenship.

“We couldn’t have won this award without our outstanding staff,” said Glenwood Adventure Company Owner Ken Murphy. “We are also incredibly lucky to work with the Bair family and operate on their spectacular ranch. It’s been a great year for Glenwood Springs and we’re honored to be a part of this community.”

Glenwood Adventure Company also promotes the Glenwood Springs area’s tourism through their annual magazine highlighting the city’s major attractions. A unique collaboration between members of the local tourism industry, Glenwood Adventure magazine provides a comprehensive resource for travelers experiencing Glenwood Springs for the first time as well as yearly visitors.

When the Colorado adventure outfitter opened its doors in 2010, they had eight employees. In two years they have grown that number to 42 bringing much needed employment opportunities to the valley. They have continued to bring growing numbers of holiday groups into the Glenwood Springs area with their stellar reputation and customer service. Glenwood Adventure Company supports the counselors of the Round Up River Ranch, a summer camp for children with life-threatening illnesses; the local sports camp for people with Autism, Aspen Extreme; and the Glenwood Springs after school program, Beyond the Bell. Glenwood Adventure Company, with Bair Ranch, has also provided school programs educating local children about the importance of ranching now and in the past.

The Bosco Tourism Business of the Year was established by the Glenwood Springs Chamber Resort Association and honors the contributions of the Bosco family to the local, regional and statewide tourism community. Past recipients of the Bosco Tourism Business of the Year have included Spa of the Rockies, Glenwood Caverns Adventure Park and Yampah Spa and Vapor Caves.
